Yeah I guess, but I know quite a few other people (tamil and other south indians) who have the name Aishwarya. It's a beautiful name.

Isn't it used more in Karnataka? Personally, I have never encountered a name Aishwarya. I did grow up in India. SHE is the first person that I know by name Aishwarya.

O I thought her name mean't prosperity. It means beautiful in Tamil. Her mum told her it mean't beautiful when she was younger. How appropriate, although it means prosperity in Sanskrit.
It has many different meanings.

In english her name is written as Aishwarya and also pronounce as Aish-wa-rya. In Bengali (Both in Bangladesh and West Bengal) it is pronounce as Oi-shor-jo. May be the reason is Bengali is much more deviated from main Sanskrit language. But how does Ash pronounce her name? Aish-wa-rya or Oi-shor-jo.
