I just watched her whole Kaja Ra Re performance from IIFA. So fun and wonderful. Ms Rai looked superb as usual, with Abishek and Amitabh Bachaan, AND I caught a snap of Preity Zinta in the audience who looked soooo sweet and absolutely gorgeous too.

awww...is this interview available online at all in video format, or in article format? She won the IIFA Best Actress Award for both Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam (where Angelina Jolie/kylie Minogue also attended) and Devdas, but because of her schedule couldn't attend. |

Aishu finally manages to attend and perform @ IIFA 2005 in Amsterdam Following conversation was recorded from NDTV India and Channel 7. Date: Wednesday June 8, 2005 Q. What do you have to say about such reception? A. "Thank you very much. It is always wonderful. They are all very supportive. I am very happy to be here. This is the first time I am attending it, can you believe it? I have never managed to be here because of my schedule. So let's see ... I am looking forward to it" Q. Yes I can see, I am huffing and puffing trying to catch up with you. Please tell me about your stage performance today A. "You know what ... confession... I am actually going to go and find out and rehearse, because I just completed provoked, I worked overnight, I completed this morning, I haven't slept, I have arrived here, so I am going to do a last minute rehearsal ... just be encouraging" she giggles Aishu was offered flowers, she said "Thank you" in her own impeccable style Q. What can you say about Mistress of Spices and Provoked? A. "Well, I have enjoyed doing both the films, both have given me an opportunity to essay an Indian woman, which is what I always look forward to, even in English arena .. and they are drastically different, one is a real life story, one is fiction and very very effective. So I had good time making them and I hope you will enjoy the end product." The reporter wanted to ask more questions, but could not and she said this is Aishwarya's life, getting media attention where ever she goes. Another reporter asked about Provoked "It is a very serious film as you rightly pointed out, this is a real story, so it has been very draining very exhausting film to work on ... both ways I mean literally in terms of schedule, we have done this at a great speed .. within 5 weeks we have completed the film and even as a character it is very very intense" When asked about her performance in IIFA 2005 "Just like Zee Awards, this time also I would manage only last minute rehearsal. I really thank my well wishers and fans" When asked about Gayatri Devi role "I feel very happy. It is a very interesting time in my career, when I am getting the opportunity to essay different roles, some real life personalities, some fictional and I think it is a dream come true for any actress to get an opportunity to essay characters like these. Thank you" Aishu, I really wish you think about yourself for a moment. I know you have tremendous energy and May God bless you, but that doesn't mean that you neglect yourself! Catch some sleep at least! |
