I agree with Frankie.
Aishwarya is a pretty face but not a good actress. Sanjay Leela Bhansali is the ONLY director who pulls out decent performances from her, according to me. She was wonderful in HDDCS and Devdas.
As for this A R Rahman business. I think he is just totally overhyped. But what in the world has he got to do with Aish? Last I heard she was dating Vivek ObeRai LOLL
I am looking forward to see how Aishwarya acts in B&P. It will be a treat to see her performance. I heard the distributers aren't keen on taking it up - they say it's not half as good as Bend It Like Beckham (this is exactly what I thought would happen) |

what? ok she was in miss world in 1994, i think that speaks for itself. she was deemed to be the world's most beautiful woman at the time, and in my opinion she still is. she wasn't a great actress at first, i admit, but after devdas, she has really done well, and will continue to get better. she proved that an architect can become a model, and now a model can become an actress. plus, an actress has become a great ambassador for indian cinema. Aishwarya is doing great! |

One this is certain, that aishwarya rai is very very smart and clever girl. Actually, I have seen in close, I feel that in reality she is not that beautiful and I have seen lot of girls more beautiful that her.However, it is grace, way of talking, and her attitude that really uplifted her status and on camera she is very photogenic.
She can create a havoc in hollywood though she is 31, because in holloywood age of actress does not count like in hindi movies.

Wuts so good about ar rehman. I dunno why he is considered to be a great composer with poor tracks such as Yuva, lakeer, meenaxi, tehzeeb (only two songs were good) and many more. He certainly used to be good before but i don't think hes worth the appreciation. Ash on the other hand is very talented with great looks, dancing skills as well as acting. She has improved big time
Being Canadian (=influenced by indian hype as long as it is related to ash) i can safely say that Mr. rehman does not have genuine talent as ms Rai has |

As this board is for objective discussion I have to say that Miss Rai is not a "great" Indian actress. Besides Devdas I cannot recall witnessing a noteworthy performance.
Specifically, her dialogue delivery is shaky, her voice lacks power & facial expressions leave a lot to be desired.
Yes she can dance well & has great looks.
Being American (= not influenced by Indian hype), I can safely say that she does not have geniune talent as Mr Rehman has.
What do people think?
