Bride and Prejudice tops the South African
Box Office in first week

Pathé Pictures International announces “Bride and Prejudice” opened in the number one spot in South Africa, grossing an excellent $250,596 from only 67 screens.
The Aishwarya Rai vehicle opened against Denzel Washington in “The Manchurian Candidate” directed by Brett Ratner and the action adventure “After the Sunset” starring Pierce Brosnan and Salma Hayek directed by Jonathan Demme.
Bride is currently open in UK, Middle East, Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia,
South Africa and Switzerland.
Miramax will release the film in the United States on February 11, 2005.
Rai won Miss World in 1994 in South Africa. Her fans continue to support her very strongly, says Simone Sheffield, her International Manager.
